BootCD Creator for Mac OS X - Emergency CDs

BootCD by CharlesSoft is available in a 10.3 Panther compatible form. That is a Mac program to create bootable Mac OS X CDs with a working Finder and many other working programs. Useful for maintainance and reapiring crashed Macs. Oh and i use it for backup with rsyncX.

BootCD is a tool for making CDs with Apples Operating System Mac OS X. Such CDs are called Live CDs. Classic Mac OS was easily bootable from only readable media. Mac OS X is different. It is based on BSD UNIX and has to be prepared for botting from CD. Charles Srstka has developed such a program. It collects the needed parts of the OS to al burnable image file. Afteron you can add your favourite applications for example for disk repairing or diagnose or chess.

Windows is up today not bootable from CD because it needs a writable registry file. Bart PE omits this difficulty partly.
